Upon joining KANEMATSU CORPORATION in 1991, Masakazu Azumi was engaged in steel raw materials trading. Later, he was engaged in the steel raw materials business at Cargill, Incorporated, in Hong Kong, and then in 2001, he shifted to a career in financial strategy planning and M&A operations at Toyota Tsusho Corporation. In 2005, he moved to the M&A Group in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Company, Limited. He joined Sharaku Partners Co., Ltd. in 2009 and assumed the position of Executive Officer and Partner (Head of M&A and Corporate Strategy Group). In 2015, he joined Frontier Management Inc. and assumed the position of Managing Director. In 2021, he joined Japan Originated Investment Bank, Inc. and assumed the positions of Managing Executive Officer and Senior General Manager of the Investment Banking Department.
